The development of the Luso-Brazilian short story,
from the oral tradition to its modern literary form, various short story
theories and genres will be examined through a close reading and analysis of
selected works and film adaptations from Machado de Assis, Eça de Queiroz,
Graciliano Ramos, Mia Couto, João Guimarães Rosa, José Saramago, Clarice
Lispector, Murilo Rubião, Adélia Prado and others.
